Safety and benefits of climbing
Benefits of climbing
Climbing is a sport that has a positive impact on adults and children. We have listed the 8 most notable benefits for you.
Climbing keeps us active and healty
💪 Climbing is a sports activity that uses all parts of the body. During exercise, you strengthen all your muscles, develop your body’s flexibility and increase your endurance. Climbing is a great activity to keep children healthy and active all year round.
You develop your coordination and body awarness
🧗🏻 Climbing is a strategic sport, involving active awareness of body position and strategic placement of the hands and fingers to move from one position to another. This type of body awareness training develops good motoric functions and hand-eye coordination.
👧 These skills are particularly important for the development of younger children, as good motoric functions are essential for activities of everyday life that require body awareness and coordination.
You strengthen your problem-solving and decision-making skills
💡 Climbing teaches us how to solve problems and builds our decision-making confidence. Through fun on the climbing walls, children learn to strategically solve the problem of “where to go next?” on and off the wall. Through practice, they will improve their decision-making skills and therefore make better and faster decisions.
You build your confidence and self-esteem
🏅 Reaching the goal at the top of the wall is an incredible feeling, no matter your age. Every climb is an opportunity to build confidence and self-esteem. Overcoming challenges such as fear of heights is an important factor in building confidence and self-esteem. It shows children that they are capable of overcoming difficulties both on and off the wall. In climbing, children have the opportunity to see the result of their hard work and to see the difficulties they have overcome.
You improve concentration, focus and patience
👀 Every parent wants their child to have more concentration, focus and patience. Climbing can help children and teenagers improve these skills. A child makes decisions with every grip while climbing, and is forced to be patient, even when making mistakes. In this way, he learns that the more he focuses and concentrates on the task in front of him, the more likely he is to succeed.
Climbing reduces stress
🤗 Looking at a high wall, many people wonder how anyone can feel less stressed while climbing. However, the focus that climbing requires is a way for many people to detach themselves from the stressors of everyday life and focus solely on the task at hand. More climbing = less stress.
You develop communication and listening skills
👄 There is a lot of communication happening on the wall, whether you are communicating with an animator, a companion or a friend, To climb, we need to listen and understand the instructions and apply what we have learned to the task ahead.
We meet new friends
❤️ Although everyone climbs independently and on their own wall, our Fun Walls arena is the ideal place to meet new people and build new friendships. You can compete with each other, encourage each other or share tips to reach your goal faster. In all cases, we’re bonding and having the best fun together.
Safety on climbing walls
At WOOP! safety alwaly comes first. Safety is ensured on our super fun climbing walls
The best provider
For the construction of the new attraction, we chose Walltopia, a Bulgarian company that delights climbers on 6 continents, in 78 countries and more than 1800 climbing centers with its climbing equipment. 🌍
Walltopia and WOOP! are guided by the same values. Freedom, safety and fun are the motives that drive our daily lives and define everything we do.
The best safety system
WOOP! Climbers use a brand new innovative climbing wall. 😎
The Self-Belay is a climbing accessory that increases safety by allowing users to climb only if they are properly clipped into the auto belay device. The connector cannot be opened accidentally or intentionally while climbing, as users can only connect and disconnect from the device when they are on the ground.
The Self Belay device not only makes climbing safer but also helps the user experience, as participants can connect to the safety rope on their own without waiting for an animator to help them. And the system is so simple that even children can use it on their own without any supervision. 🔒
The equipment and security system are excellent for safety, but you can’t be completely safe without conscientious visitors. To make your experience safe, you need to follow the basic safety principles of the park. Follow the rules, be a hero!
You can only enter the Fun walls area with alti-slip WOOP! socks.
Before you start climbing, put on your safety harness and try out the safety system with an animator.
In the park, be sure to listen to the animators and follow the rules for safe use of the walls.
Before climbing, it is mandatory to watch a safety video that will inform you about the rules of climbing and the potential risks.
